Jewellery Care Guide

Looking after your Elizabeth Ingram Jewellery

Each piece of our jewellery is handmade in the UK with love, and a little care goes a long way in keeping it looking its best. Here are a few simple tips to help you keep your jewellery sparkling and safe for as long as possible.

Keep your jewellery dry

Please don’t submerge your jewellery in water. That means removing it before showering, swimming, or washing up. Water can weaken the materials over time and cause colours to fade or metal parts to tarnish.

Avoid exposing your jewellery to harsh chemicals

Perfumes, skin creams, suntan lotion, and household cleaners can all damage jewellery finishes. Always apply sprays and lotions first, and let them dry before putting on your jewellery.

Store your jewellery sensibly

When you’re not wearing your jewellery, keep it somewhere cool and dry—out of direct sunlight and away from damp. A jewellery box or pouch is perfect.

Handle fabric pieces gently

Some of our jewellery includes fabric elements. If needed, you can gently clean these parts with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid soaking or scrubbing to prevent damage.

Take your jewellery off at night

We recommend removing your jewellery at the end of the day. Sleeping in earrings can cause discomfort to you or damage to the earring over time.

Allergy advice

All pieces are made using materials that aim to be low or zero-nickel, including stainless steel. However, if you have a sensitivity, there’s still a small chance of a reaction. If irritation occurs, remove the jewellery and treat as needed. Always consult a doctor or pharmacist if you’re unsure.

A little TLC helps your jewellery last beautifully—so it can continue to bring joy, day after day.
